SUNSHINE and SIDEWALK CHALK

The first time I saw these two little sisters, they were laughing and chasing each other on the sidewalk that runs in front of my house. I knew at once we were going to be fast friends.

They had just moved to the neighborhood and before long I noticed the sun shines a little brighter when they’re around. Once we were on a first name basis, the younger one would greet me with a running hug.

These precious girls are so full of joy and enthusiasm that being around them jazzes me more than a double latte. They are hop-scotchin’ bunnies, sidewalk chalk artists, and yesterday I swear I heard them giggle in two-part harmony. Really.

So if you’re ever outside and notice the sky’s a little bluer, the sun’s a little brighter and you’re inexplicably full of cheerful optimism, you might want to take a look around.

It’s my guess these two little sisters are probably nearby.
