Frequently Asked Questions

Q:    What is your favorite thing to photograph?
A:    Light. Without it, my photos are really, really dark.

Q:    Kids seem to love you. What’s your secret?
A:    Having a large repertoire of animal sounds is essential.

Q:    Certain cultures believe that taking a person’s picture steals the soul of the person being         photographed. Do you think this is true?
A:    Using a digital camera does NOT steal the subject’s soul. Film cameras do.

Q:    Don’t you print your images quite large? Is bigger really better? Is it true you eat raw fish?
A:    Yes.

Q:    How do you engage your subjects when they’re not cooperating?
A:    I bribe them with old jellybeans that I carry around in my camera bag.

Q:    Ha, ha…that’s pretty funny. You’re kidding, right?
A:    You’ll have to ask the girl in the picture to your right.
